George E. Olson

Ishpeming, MI- George E. Olson, age 61 of 900 Wabash St. Ishpeming, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at his home under the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice.

George was born September 13, 1945 in Superior, WI to Edward E. & Pearl (Wright) Olson. He graduated from Echo Central High School and attended Wisconsin State College from 1964 to 1968 where he received his bachelors of Science degree.

George served in the United States Air Force from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1988. He served during the Vietnam Conflict. George retired as a Major from the Air Force. He piloted KC 135's and EC 47's.

George was a member of the Springbrook V.F.W. He enjoyed playing pool, making anything out of wood, reading and playing computer games. George was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.

George is survived by his father Edward Olson of Superior, WI, 2 children Scott (Libbi) Olson of Ishpeming and Lori (Leonard) Dominguez of Rancho Cordova, CA, 4 grandchildren: Shasta Olson, Scott Olson, Klaye Olson and Shannel Dominguez, a brother Randy Olson and 3 nephews Kyler, Nathan and Chad Olson. George was preceded in death by his wife Susan Olson, his mother Pearl, step mother Evelyn, granddaughter Erica Dominguez and a brother Gary.

Inurnment graveside services will be held 1:30p.m. E.S.T. Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Ishpeming Cemetery, Ishpeming, MI with Rev. Chuck Tooman to officiating along with Military Honors.
