Ishpeming – George W. Goldsworthy, age 73, a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at UP Health System–Marquette, surrounded by the love of his family and the compassionate care of the hospital staff.
George was born in Ishpeming on March 26, 1952, to the late William and Eleanor (Miljour) Goldsworthy. He graduated from Ishpeming High School with the Class of 1970. In 1970, George proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1976. Following his service, he worked as an electrician for Cleveland Cliffs, dedicating many years until his retirement in 2014. On October 14, 1977, George married Beverlee Nault, beginning a loving partnership that lasted 47 years.
George was a man of many interests and deep connections. He was a member of the Wawonawin Country Club, the National Rifle Association, and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He found joy in side-by-side rides, camping, golfing, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and those around him always said what a wonderful and generous person he was.
He is survived by his wife, Beverlee (Nault) Goldsworthy; children, Donny (Emily) Goldsworthy and Carissa (Craig) Magnuson; grandchildren, Camery (Jed) and Cody (Hanna); siblings, Kenmore (Pat) Goldsworthy, Ann (Mike) Filizetti, and Lee (Sue) Goldsworthy; sisters-in-law, Linda Goldsworthy, Carrie Goldsworthy and Sandra Goldsworthy; his beloved dog, Luna; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
