Ishpeming- George E. Bonovich, age 94 formerly of 1770 US Hwy 41 W. Ishpeming passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past 11 months.

George was born December 27, 1920 in Iron River, MI to Eli & Beatrice (White) Bonovich. He graduated from Iron River High School, class of 1938. George was a self employed contractor. He was an exceptional carpenter in the construction of many homes that he built. George enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid runner.

George is survived by 2 sons: George (Barb) Bonovich of Green Bay, WI, Jim (Kerry) Bonovich of Ishpeming 3 grandchildren: Shawn (Chandra) Bonovich of Ishpeming, Tammy Bonovich of Ishpeming and Tim Bonovich of Minneapolis, MN, and a great grandson Mark Helenius of Denver, CO. George was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, daughter Julie Bonovich, a brother Bob Bonovich and a great granddaughter Samantha Bonovich.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday April 21, 2015 at the Ishpeming Cemetery with Pastor D. Michael Carriere officiating.

George's family would like to thank the 300 wing staff at MCMCF for the wonderful care given to George while he was a resident there.
