Ishpeming- Genevieve A. Nap, age 81, longtime area resident, passed away on Sunday October 18, 2026 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by her daughters and caring staff at the nursing home.

Genevieve was born in Ishpeming on June 11, 1945, daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose (Ombrello) Bertucci. She grew up in the Ishpeming area and was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, class of 1963. Genevieve worked at Johny’s Restaurant as a cook and manager, a laborer at Robbin’s Flooring Mill, and volunteered at the Bell Memorial Hospital coffee cart for many years.

Genevieve was a member of the Paisano Club, Bell Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, Tri-ad, Ishpeming VFW Women’s Auxiliary, a longtime prior member of the Ishpeming Elks, and was active in the Ishpeming Senior Center Activity Club. She was very active in the catholic church, and will be remembered for volunteering all throughout the community. Genevieve enjoyed coffee clutching with her Tuesday Coffee club at McDonald’s, going out to eat and enjoyed spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. Genevieve had a beloved passion for cake decorating, making countless beautiful cakes for weddings and special events over the years.

Genevieve is survived by 3 children, Cathie (Roy) King, Colleen (Rudy) Goupille, Brian Nap, sister-in-law, Julie Bertucci, 12 grandchildren, Joanna (Chris) Sirignano, Nicholas Olgren, Kyle (Lauren) Barry, Spencer (Holly) Barry, Rudy (Courtney) Goupille, Dustin (Cassidy) Goupille, Shayla Nap, Hunter Nap, Darrin King, Jaymie Girardin, Amber Girardin, Ryan Girardin, 15 great grandchildren, Ella, Allyson, Dominic, Dakota, Cayden, Gianna, Natalia, Annabelle, Adaline, Blake, Lila, Emmi, Romi, with 2 great grandchildren on the way. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Steve Bertucci who would stop in often to check on her well being.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Christine Girardin, siblings, Rocco Bertucci, Victor Bertucci, Anthony Bertucci, Nancy Boegel, Fran Bertucci, Ann Bertucci, and special friend, Rosebud Barry.

Genevieve’s family will greet relatives and friends at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming on Friday October 23, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Fr. Larry Van Damme celebrating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church hall. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Genevieve’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
