Obituary
Republic Twp- Gene Plankey, age 61 of Island Lake (Republic Twp) passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at his camp.
Gene was born April 10, 1949 in Marquette, MI to Doris (Antilla) Plankey and the late George Plankey. He served his country in the Unites States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a package deliveryman for UPS in Pontiac, MI. He was an author and has a book published "Trout Falls Chronicles." He loved to sit in the woods and write. He loved to watch birds, and deer.
Gene is survived by two sons and there mother Karen Plankey, Leesburg ,FL Kris Plankey of Bloomington, MN and Jeff Plankey of Detroit, his mother Doris Plankey of South Lyon, MI a brother James (Judy) Plankey of Detroit, nephew James and nieces Kim and Tammy, and great uncle to Kristen, Jessica, Jordon, Katlin, Mya, Kayla, and Leslie. Gene was preceded in death by his father George.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at the Champion Cemetery.
