Ishpeming- Gene S. "Sonny" Johnson, age 83 formerly of 715 Duncan Ave Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp where he been a resident since October 9, 2007

Gene was born October 31, 1924 in Ishpeming to Eugene & Gyda (Anderson) Johnson. Gene was a life long area resident. He worked many years at Robbins Flooring Mill.
Sonny was an avid skier, who served as a ski patrol at Al Quaal. Sonny was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as head usher and belonged to the Men's Group. Sonny enjoyed family gatherings.

Sonny is survived by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents

Funeral services will be held 6:00p.m. Friday, November 30, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating. Burial will be in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends may call Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday from 4:00p.m. until the time of service at 6:00p.m.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Sjoholm, David Gadomski, Shay Sjoholm, Curtis Sjoholm, Peter Johnson and Ed Gagnon

Memorial considerations may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church in memory of Gene "Sonny" Johnson.
