San Francisco, CA- Gary E. West Jr., age 54 passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at his residence in San Francisco.

Gary was born October 17, 1964 in Ishpeming to Carol M. (Curcio) and the late Gary E. West Sr.  He moved to lower Michigan where he graduated from Walled Lake-Western High School where he participated in school plays and was a cadet firefighter, in the Walled Lake Fire Department.

Gary loved music, art, reading, he was a history buff of the Civil War.  Over the years Gary worked in landscaping, apartment management, for BFI Waste Management and recently was a community organizer for the San Francisco Drug Users Union.

Gary is survived by his mother, Carol (Jackie) Kangas of Walled Lake, MI, 2 daughters:  Anna West and Winonah Shrader, a sister Nancy Zanger of Wixom, MI, 4 grandchildren, 2 nieces, 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew, 2 aunts, uncle and many cousins.  Gary was preceded in death by his father Gary West Sr.

Private committal service was held at the Ishpeming Cemetery in Ishpeming.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Lower Michigan.
