Champion – Gary L Prodell Jr. age 50 of 2592 Co. Rd. AAJ in Champion passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident in Champion Twp.


Gary was born April 20, 1958 in L'Anse, MI the son of the late Gary L. and Christina (Rolstone) Prodell. He was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1976. Gary worked as a truck driver / heavy equipment operator for several area logging companies including Holli, Mattila, Antilla and Dillon through the years. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar and in his teenage years he was a member of the Sunlight Singers, which was formed through the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. While a member of the Sunlight Singers they recorded an album. He loved to be out riding on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle along with hunting, fishing and family gatherings.


Survivors include his lifelong companion Sherri Beaupied of Champion, 3 brothers – Timothy Prodell of Humboldt, John (Gail) Prodell of Hamilton, OH and Rodney Prodell of Ishpeming. Uncle Gary will be missed dearly by his many nieces and nephews who enjoyed their time with him. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, along with their dog Jesse.


He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Scott Prodell.


A private memorial gathering and service will be held on Saturday March 21, 2009 at the Humboldt Twp. Hall with Andrew Kandoll to officiate.
