Devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend – Gary Arthur Borlace passed away suddenly on April 25, 2011 in Midland Michigan. He was born in Ishpeming, to parents Margaret and Ernie Borlace on November 17, 1971. He was raised in a loving, Christian household with his two bothers and confidants, Bob and David (Bubba) Borlace.

From the moment Gary was born he enjoyed the simple things life had to offer. He grew up in the serene simplicity of a small town and spent many days soaking up the sun on Bass Lake. He played football and graduated from Westwood High School in 1990 and went on to accomplish a Master's Degree from Northern Michigan University. There he met his first wife, Sarah (Booth) Weisbarth. She blessed him with his first child, only son, and true love of his life, Aaron David Borlace.

Gary continued his journey with a career at MidMichigan Medical Center Midland and Gladwin Pines Nursing Home as an HR Generalist. Those who had the honor of working with him raved about his constant dedication to his work and saw him as a driven and reliable cohort.

Gary found solitude through music and was a known talented musician. He spent countless hours and found peace with his guitar in his hands. He was a loyal Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan and shared many great times with friends and family traveling to games and races.

The highways of Northern and Lower Michigan were paved with a permanent track from Gary's love of riding his motorcycle. He spoke often of his road trips remembering how it gave him the feeling of freedom and a true emotional outlet. He would get up early enough to see the sunrise and ride long enough to travel into the sunset.

As he road through his path of life he met his wife and best friend, Jakie (Morgan) Borlace. Together they joined their three beautiful children, Alison Beth Sanford, Molly Maye Sanford and Aaron David Borlace and began a life together as a family on August 21, 2010. He was a strong provider for his family and home and shared countless wonderful memories with his loved ones.

Gary is survived by his wife Jakie (Morgan) Borlace, children Aaron Borlace, Molly Sanford and Alison Sanford; parents Margaret and Ernie Borlace; brother Bob (Pam) Borlace; grandmother Elaine Moyle; aunt Liz Miller; aunt Jackie (Bruce) Pannala; aunt Robyn (Ken) Kinnenun; Joleyn (Phil) McCotter; aunt Fiona Laveau; and uncle Jerry Ingerham.

His brother and friend, David "Bubba" Borlace; grandfather Arthur Borlace; grandmother Dora Borlace; grandfather Robert Moyle; uncle Joseph Moyle; and uncle Clay Laveau predeceased Gary in death.

A private Memorial Service was held in honor of Gary's life on Friday April 29th, 2011 with Chaplain Roger Stauffer presiding.
