Ishpeming- Gail L. Longtine, age 69, lifelong area resident passed away unexpectedly Tuesday June 26, 2018.
Gail was born on January 31, 1949 in Marquette to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Morin) Verran. She attended Negaunee Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1968.
Gail was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was very involved with the church ladies group. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, a girl scout leader, boy scout den mother, organized various outings at the High Rise, was involved with the Feeding America organization, and was on the MarqTran board.
Gail is survived by her 2 children- Peter (Michelle) Longtine of Ishpeming, Nancy (Paul) McHardy of Champion, 2 sisters- Melanie (Rodney) Garbett of Marquette, Judy (Jan) Laurila of Negaunee, a sister-in-law- Fayth Verran of Holly, MI, 6 grandchildren- Briana (Logan), Rebecca (Noah), Ashley, Jordan, Madison, Taylor, 1 great grandchild- Liam, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Albert J. Longtine, brother- John Verran, and grandson- John Michael Longtine.
Gail's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Saturday June 30, 2018. A Memorial Mass will follow at 12:00 noon with Fr. Larry Van Damme as celebrant. A potluck luncheon will follow the Mass in the K/D Hall.
