Ishpeming- Frederick J. Langson, age 67 of 813 North St. Ishpeming and longtime Negaunee resident passed away Wednesday, December 02, 2009 at his home under the care of his family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Fred was born May 26, 1942 in Ishpeming to Nemia V. (Olgren) and the late William F. Langson. He was a graduate of Negaunee High School. Fred worked as a custodian at the Bell Memorial Hospital and more recently for the Negaunee Public Schools. Fred was a Golden Eagle of the Negaunee Eagles Club, & he had many friends at the Ishpeming V.F.W. After retiring Fred enjoyed tinkering and working with woodcrafts.

Fred is survived by his wife of 18 years, Barbara Langson, his mother Nemia Langson of Negaunee, a brother William T. (Elta) Langson of Negaunee Twp, 7 sisters: Carol J. Joki of Humboldt Twp, Viola M. (Raymond) Liubakka of Marquette, Florence Houseman of Ishpeming, Sally (Earl) McNally of Brampton, Corrine Hillis of Negaunee, Arlene (Ben) Thexton of Ishpeming and Lois Hill of Ishpeming along with numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by is father William and a sister Eunice Hebert.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Captain Chris Marques officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 1:00pm until the time of service.
