Champion- Francis Lundin, age 71 of 2073 Co. Rd. CN Champion, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Marquette General Hospital after being in ill health for the past several years.

Francis was born January 29, 1936 in Ishpeming to Francis A. & Mary M. (Stagliano) Lundin. Frank graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1954. Frank served in the Unites State Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, serving his country for 20 years. He worked for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company as a truck driver for over 20 years.

Frank was a life member of the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post 4573 and a member of the Negaunee Rod & Gun Club. Frank enjoyed hunting & fishing and was known as a good story teller. He enjoyed conversations with anyone. His grandchildren were very special to him ad him to them.

Frank is survived by a son David (Guinevere) Lundin of Ishpeming, step daughter Karen (Clint) Yarholar of Oklahoma City, OK, a sister Kathryn (Don) Frederickson, 2 brothers: Robert (Beth) Lundin and Charles A. (Christine) Lundin all of Ishpeming, six grandchildren: Christina, Lauren, Chase and Ella Lundin, Lesley and Trevor Yarholar, 2 great grandchildren: Brandon & Leikyn, along with an uncle, 2 aunts, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Joyce in 1989.

Funeral services will be held 12:00noon, Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Warren Geier officiating. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends may call the Bethany Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon
