Obituary

Ishpeming- Francis P. Bertucci, age 68 life long Ishpeming area resident passed away Saturday July 14, 2018 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where he was a patient for 2 days.

Fran was born September 13, 1949 in Ishpeming to Salvatore and Rose (Ombrello) Bertucci. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1967. Fran started working as an auto mechanic at Juntti's Service Station and later worked as a mechanic for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company working in the truck shop and as a shovel mechanic, retiring from the Empire Mine in 2003.

In Fran's younger years he enjoyed weightlifting and was a certified scuba diver. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, sport shooting, welding and fabricating as a hobby and more recently woodworking and he always enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Fran is survived by his wife Julie (Villberg) Bertucci, whom he married on September 21, 1974, a son Victor Bertucci of Ishpeming, 2 sisters: Genevieve Nap and Ann Bertucci both of Ishpeming, along with cousins, nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Rocco, Victor and Anthony Bertucci and a sister Nancy Boegel.

Fran's family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30-11:00 am on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Fr. Ryan Ford officiating.

A luncheon will follow the service at K/D Hall located at St. Johns Church.
