Obituary
West Palm Beach, FL- Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Skufca passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from a heart attack at his home in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 64 years of age.
Fr. Ron was preceded in death by his father Joseph L. Skufca of Ishpeming, MI. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Skufca of Menominee, Michigan, a brother Roger (Patti Wheeler) Skufca of Houghton, Michigan, a sister Dianne (Mark) Ledel of Mammoth Lakes, California as well as extended family members and many friends.
Fr. Ron was ordained on August 8, 1979 & served in many parishes throughout the Upper Peninsula. Throughout much of his priesthood he served as Chaplain for the Army National Guard and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was deployed for active duty in Kosovo in 2006. In 2010 he took time away from active ministry until his untimely passing.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30pm Central Time, on Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. John Neumann Church, Spalding, Michigan with Fr. Michael Vichich & Fr. Mark Inglot as celebrants and Priests of the Diocese of Marquette as con celebrants.
Visitation will be held at St. John Neumann Church from 2:00pm until the time of Mass at 3:30pm Central Time.
