Cotter, Arkansas- Florence Verley, age 69, of 394 Scarlet Oaks Circle, Cotter, AR passed away September 30, 2007 at her residence.
Florence was born August 12, 1938, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Harry and Hulda (Niemi) Micensky.
Florence married Jerald Verley on February 1, 1958 in Iron Mountain. She taught at the Ishpeming area schools and retired after over 27 years of teaching. She lived in Cotter since 2000, moving from Ishpeming, MI.
Florence enjoyed decorating her house, planting and tending to flowers, teaching, and she never missed a Green Bay Packers game. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband: Jerald Verley, 2 sons: Lawrence M. Verley of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daniel J. Verley of Ishpeming, 2 daughters: Sandra L. Wuorenmaa of Ishpeming and Debra J. (Mike) Elliott of Minnetonka, Minnesota, 2 brothers: Harry (Norma) Micensky of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Mike (Debbie) Micensky of Peoria, Arizona, 6 grandchildren: Jerry and Andrea Wuorenmaa, Courtney, Ashlee, and Lindsey White and Matthew Verley, 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving a sister in law, Joyce Micensky of Escanaba, MI, brother in law, Lyle Anderson of Phoenix, AZ, many nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs: Boots and Pepper.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2007 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Louis Stephens, from Hopewell Baptist Church, officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
