Obituary
Ishpeming – Florence J. Marietti, age 77 of 855 S. Pine St. Ishpeming passed away surrounded by her loving family, at 5:00pm on Thursday December 20, 2007 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp. where she had resided for the past 15 months.
Florence was born June 1, 1930 to the late Alfred and Eva (DeCaire) Nault in Ishpeming, where she has been a life long area resident. Florence married John B. Marietti on August 9, 1950 in Ishpeming.
Florence always treated her family and friends with her cooking and treats. Her pasties have yet to be matched along with her cream filled cupcakes. She enjoyed sharing her home with others and when you visited, you felt at home. Florence was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish where she was involved in the Ladies Guild and St. Anne's Society. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. She also enjoyed playing cards and watching the Tigers.
Survivors include Florence's husband of 57 years John, daughters: Mary Taskila (Sam Peterson) of Marquette, and Laura (Kurt) Rundman of Ishpeming, sons: Tom (Sherry) Marietti of Grand Rapids, MI, Ed (Karen) Marietti of Manistique, Steve (Diana) Marietti of Brooklyn Park, MN, and John (Christina) Marietti of Big Lake, MN, grandchildren: Keith (Erica) Jarvis, David (Alice) Jarvis, Kara, Kyle, and Kaleb Rundman, Jonah, Maria, Brody, and Bailey Marietti, Jen (Joel) Norton, Jeff, CJ and Brian Jenerou, great-grandchildren: Christian, Jerrod, and Whitleigh Jarvis, and Brandon Schieffel, sisters: Dorothy (Chic) Coron of Ishpeming, Donna (Gerald) LeSage of Ishpeming, brothers: Harry Nault of Ishpeming, Jim "Perky" Nault of Ishpeming, Brother-in-law: Bob Surrell of Ishpeming, and foster son: Leonard Hansen of Hermansville, MI, along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Florence is preceded in death by a brother: Bernard Nault, sisters: Bernice Meeks, Marie Surrell and Helen Johnson, and a foster son: Rueben Hansen.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00p.m. on Sunday at the church with Rev. Fr. James Challancin to officiate. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee Twp. A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall.
Pallbearers will be Florence's grandsons.
