Michigamme- Fern L. Rautio, age 94 of 25497 Nelson St Michigamme (Spurr Twp) passed away Sunday May 8, 2016 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.
Fern was born August 6, 1921 in Michigamme to Ambrose & Matilda (Molway) Paquette, the youngest of 12 siblings. Fern enjoyed reading, camping, cooking and canning. She always made sure the animals in her yard were fed. Fern will be missed by her friend Jane Adams who always took her to BINGO. Fern was a member of the Greenwood America Legion Auxiliary Post #114.
Fern is survived by 6 children: Betty (John) Robinson of Ishpeming, Robert Rautio of Odessa, TX, JoAnn (William) Prisk of Champion, Fern (Raynor) Johnson of Greenwood location, Karen LaPin of Negaunee and Arthur (Cheryl) Rautio of Michigamme, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Fern was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, infant son Robert, a son Leonard, 10 brothers & 1 sister.
Honoring Fern's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no public service.
