Ishpeming- Faye Christine Sangala, age 78, passed away peacefully at Marquette County Medical Care Facility on February 19 ^th , 2023.

Faye was born on February 23 ^rd , 1944, in Ishpeming, Michigan to Alfred and Esther (Sommers) Millimaki. She graduated from National Mine High School and lived the remainder of her life in her childhood home.

After graduation, Faye married her high school sweetheart, Dale Kari, in Ishpeming, Michigan. In 1967 Faye and Dale gave birth to their only child, Todd. After Dale passed away in 1970, Faye raised Todd with the help of her father, Alfred. Later, Faye remarried to Donald Sangala, and he moved into her home on 581. Soon after, they purchased the family camp down the road on Little Perch Lake. After Don's passing in 2009, Faye continued living in her home. She was an independent woman and continued to maintain the house and property alone, and later with some help from her neighbors. In the last two years of her life, Faye was a resident of Teal Lake Senior Living Community and Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

Faye enjoyed watching auto racing, especially NASCAR. She was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan, and almost never missed a race. She had a soft spot for animals, with at least one cat in the house for the past 30 years. Faye also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at camp, saunas, tai-chi, and just being outside in nature.

Faye is survived by grandsons Joseph (Lydia) Kari of Alexandria, VA and Jacob (Morgan) Kari of Houghton, MI, brother-in-law Doug (Elaine) Kari, sister-in-law Nancy (Kim) Mallett, and nieces and nephews Kurt Millimaki, Lisa Treece, Kevin Millimaki, Keith Millimaki, Kristin Thornton, Chad Collins, and Laurie Collins.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Esther Millimaki, husbands, Dale Kari and Donald Sangala, son, Todd Kari, brothers, Jack (John) and Leonard Millimaki, and nephew Eric Collins.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday February 22 ^nd at the Ishpeming Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Jensen officiating.
