Obituary
Ishpeming – Evelyn E. Toy, age 80, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away on Friday March 18, 2011 at the Angela Hospice in Livonia, MI.
Evelyn was born May 27, 1930 in Laurium, MI the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Holman) Arsenault. She moved to Ishpeming at a young age and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1948. Evelyn spent her working career in the Detroit area. Upon retirement, she returned to the Ishpeming area, where she resided until her recent illness.
Survivors include her husband Fred "Burt" Toy of National Mine, 3 children – Sharen (Timothy) Schwartz of Canton, Barbara (Adrian) Sheremeta of Northville Twp. and John (Janet) Sangala of Livonia, sister Marilyn (Rudolph) Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, brother Bill (Sueretta) Arsenault of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Sangala, a daughter Susie Reno, a granddaughter Tanya Lyons and a brother Bob Arsenault.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10am – 11am on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
