Ishpeming, MI - Evelyn R. Stanaway, age 81, of 1745 Southwood Dr. Ishpeming, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at UP Health System Marquette.

Evelyn was born in Crystal Falls, MI on July 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Cecilia (Holmes) and Eugene Kennedy. She was raised in Negaunee and was a graduate of the Negaunee High School, Class of 1958. Evelyn tended to her sons needs and then worked into age 70 as a Nurses Aide at Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp.

Evelyn was an active member of CrossBridge Church in Ishpeming along with being active at the AmVets and American Legion. She loved bowling and softball (woman's fastpitch) in her younger years. She will be remembered as one who loved her family, music, the Detroit Tigers, birds, gardening and the casino and so much more...

Evelyn is survived by three sons; Rick (Andrea) Wills of Negaunee; Dave (Debbie) Wills of Sheboygan Falls, WI; Jim Wills of Ishpeming; a brother, Patrick (Sharon) Kennedy of Negaunee; step-daughter-in-law Jenn Stanaway of AZ; sister-in-law Nancy Kennedy of Ishpeming; 6 grandchildren - Jamie, Jody, Amanda, Amber, Casie, Andy; 8 great grandchildren; and step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece Stephanie Kennedy along with special friends Cheryl Kellow and Dave Hensley.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband - Richard H. Wills in 1986, and her second husband - Bernard Stanaway in 2010; brothers - Donald, Gilbert, Robert and William Kennedy; and stepson Bernie Stanaway Jr.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, a Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday with Rev. Kevin McIlhany officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at the CrossBridge Church in Ishpeming.  Interment will take place at the Negaunee Cemetery.
