Ishpeming- Evelyn "Evie" R. Valella, age 92, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 31, 2021 with her family at her side. Evie was in the loving care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Evie was born in Diorite on March 9, 1929, daughter of the late Louis and Eva (Nault) Hebert. She worked for Bjork and Zhulkie, Harris Funeral Home, and Grandchamp and McBride for over 30 years. She loved going to the casino.

Evie is survived by 3 daughters- Deb (Blaine) Arbelius, Val Hill, Bev (Mike Tall) Ayotte, daughter-in-law- Toni Valella, 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 sisters- Rita Lusardi, Marina (Alvar) Heikkila, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Robert Valella, son- Duane Valella, 2 grandchildren, 5 brothers- Leo, Leonard, Melvin, Clarence, and Donald Hebert, 6 sisters- Madella Perttunen, Beuhal Ringuette, Verna Hillier, Gloria Tonge, Germaine Filizetti, and Dorothy Depetro.

Evie's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral on Thursday November 4, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. A graveside service will follow in the Ishpeming Cemetery with Fr. Ryan Ford officiating.
