Ishpeming, MI - Eva K. LaFave, age 85, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away early on Christmas morning, Wednesday, December 25, 2024, while under the care of the staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Eva was born on the family farm in Houghton, MI on July 25, 1939, a daughter of the late Eva A. (Saari) and Edwin R. Ryynanen. She attended the Houghton Schools and was a graduate of the Houghton High School. Eva worked as secretary for many years at Twin City Dodge in Ishpeming and the Manpower staffing agency in Marquette. Eva spent many hours reading and was a woman of strong faith.

Eva is  survived by three daughters, Shanna (Troy) Nyback of Republic, MI, Stacey (David) Lander of Negaunee and Sue (Tom) Bergen of Hampton, VA, son, Steve (Jan) Fredrickson of Ishpeming, sister, Vida Tebby of Livingston, TX, brother, Kenneth (Leona) Ryynanen of Houghton, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her significant other of the past 13 years Pete LaLonde of Ishpeming, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded by parents, two brothers, David and Phil Ryynanen and two sisters, Judith Boyd and Sally Hurley.

Per Eva's wishes, cremation will take place with no public services.

Eva's family wishes to thank the Marquette County Medical Care Facility and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice for their compassionate care during her final stages of life.
