Ishpeming- Ethel A. Aho, age 82 of 148 Salisbury St. Ishpeming, passed away Wednesday, September 07, 2011 at the Marquette General Hospital from heart failure. Ethel was a cancer survivor for 20 years.

Ethel was born August 4, 1929 in Eben, MI to Nestor & Martha (Santaholma) Korpi. She received an Associates Degree from Northern Michigan University. Ethel worked at the H.W. Gossard Co., Coast to Coast in Ishpeming and most recently worked as a bookkeeper for the State of Michigan at the Marquette Branch Prison retiring in 1988.

Ethel enjoyed traveling to Florida, playing cribbage, yahtzee on the computer, playing croquet, or any other games she could win at. And most recently she enjoyed going to the Casino with her sister Jeanette.

Ethel is survived by 3 children: Rusty (Liz) Aho, Sandra (Jack) Rosewall and Elizabeth (Greg) Sundberg all of Ishpeming, 4 brothers: John (Marie) Korpi of Palmer, Irvin Korpi of Ishpeming, Ronald (Naomi) Korpi of Ishpeming, Dennis (Cece) Korpi of Ishpeming, 3 sisters: Edith (Ed) Sandberg of Ishpeming, Jeanette Dunstan of Ishpeming and Donna (Marvin) Korb of Fond Du Lac, WI, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, a daughter Linda Steve, grandchildren Tina Rosewall and Jesse Sundberg and great grandson Lucas Sundberg.

Funeral services and visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm with Rev. Warren Geier officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ethel's granddaughters.

Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

A luncheon will be held at the Tilden Twp Hall following the funeral service.
