Ishpeming, MI - Erna Z. Aho, age 78, of 808 Wabash St. Ishpeming, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at UP Health System Marquette.

Erna was born in Gefrees, Germany on April 15, 1944, the youngest of eight children to the late Marie (Fuchs) and Max Zapf. She came to the United States in the fall of 1962. She married Edward R. Aho on June 1, 1968.  Erna enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Erna is survived by two daughters, Heidi (Keith) Norden of Hollandale, WI; Amy (Steve) Narhi of Nisula; two sons David (Amy) Chard of Chassell; and Stephen (Wendy) Aho of Milan; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Erna was preceded in death by her husband Edward R. Aho, siblings - Adolph, Albrecht, Kurt, Max, Elsa, Emma, and Erika.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Robert Freysinger officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The family would like to thank her NP Karen Swenor; her special caregiver Hanna Havela, special friend Margaret Leffler, her special neighbor for all his help with lawn care & snow removal, as well as the incredible staff of Arcadia and Advisa Home Health.
