Obituary
Ishpeming- Erika M. Carello, age 93 Ishpeming resident passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she had been a resident since June 2013.
Erika was born June 21, 1921 in Rastenburg, Germany to Ernest & Hedwig Schneider. She moved to the United States from Germany in 1952.
Erika was a charter member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marquette, also a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Ishpeming which she helped with the building of the church and where she was active with the Lutherans Women Missionary League. She was also involved with the MCMCF Auxiliary where she served as treasurer for 18 years. Erika was a supporter of the Ishpeming Little League, a member of the Ishpeming ELKS Lodge, and was active in bowling leagues. She was an avid Detroit Red Wing and Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Erika enjoyed knitting and playing BINGO.
Erika is survived by children: Mark (Kathy) Carello of Ishpeming, John (Jill) Coughlin of Prescott, AZ, grandchildren: Melissa (David) Neuffer, Tory (Fran) Bourdage, and Brandon (Elizabeth) Dodge, great grandchildren: Dominique, Alexis, Brandon and Brogan. She was preceded in death by her husband Dominic Anthony Carello, a son John Carello, and a daughter Kristine Coughlin.
Funeral services for Erika will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Ishpeming Twp. with Pastor D J Thomsen officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery
Erika's family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, March 19th at the Christ the King Lutheran Church from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
A dessert social will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
Memorial considerations may be directed to Christ the King Lutheran Church or the MCMCF Activity Fund in memory of Erika.
