Negaunee – Ellen T. Vivian, age 74, longtime Negaunee resident, entered eternal life on Thursday, April 12, 2018.  She had been a resident at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming since April 2, 2018, and prior to that resided at the Teal Lake Senior Living Community for the past 2 ½ years.

Ellen was born November 15, 1943 in Laurium, MI the daughter of the late John "Jack" and Victoria "Dolly" (Richetta) Welsh.  She attended the Calumet High School, graduating with the Class of 1961.  Ellen went on to M.T.U. and received her bachelor of science degree in Medical Technology.  She and her husband Harry moved to Negaunee in 1965 where they raised their three children.  Ellen had worked as a Lab Technician for several years at the Williams Clinic and Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.  She went on to work as scheduler for Marquette General Home Health for many years prior to her retirement.

Ellen was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, the Paisano Club and the Friends of the Library.  Ellen enjoyed reading and knitting but truly loved attending her children's and grandchildren's events and activities.

Survivors include 2 sons – David (Kathleen) Vivian of East Troy, WI and Dan (Hope) Vivian of Rockford, MI; daughter Michelle (Rob) Lammi of Negaunee, grandchildren – Sarah, Heather, Eric, Adam, Logan and Kyle Vivian & Katelyn and Rebecca Lammi; brother Michael (Gail) Welsh of Wyoming, MI; sisters-in-law – Gail (Don) Frantti of Bete Grise, MI and Annie (Steve) Schram of Washburn, WI; along with several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 2008 and a sister Mary Kay Welsh.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30am – Noon on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Negaunee.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Noon on Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Peter Oberto to officiate.  Interment will take place at the Negaunee Cemetery.  A luncheon will follow at the St. Paul gymnasium.

Memorials may be directed to the Negaunee Senior Center or the Teal Lake Senior Living Community Activities Dept. in Ellen's memory.
