Negaunee, MI - Ellen L. Tyler, age 92, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee, while under the loving care of her family, staff at Eastwood Nursing Center and U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Ellen was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on June 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Frederick "Earl" and Anna (Konichek) Ward. She was a graduate of the Prairie du Chien High School, Class of 1950. Ellen worked at Red Dot and Oscar Meyer in Madison, WI where she had met and then married Joe Tyler and they then moved to Janesville, WI. Ellen worked for the Janesville Gazette for several years. Ellen was a passionate homemaker who loved to cook and care for her family. Ellen loved to go thrift shopping and adored her dog, Brandy.  She always would make her famous rice crispy treats for her family and friends, and everyone loved them.  Ellen had resided in Negaunee, MI since 2016.

Survivors include two sons, Robert J. (Lori) Tyler of Huntington, IN, Ronald J. (Kimberly) Tyler of Negaunee, MI, grandchildren, Shawn Homan, Nathan Tyler, Rachel (Nick) Lauer,  Jana (Rob) Zahm,  great grandchildren, Wyatt Lauer, Ellis Lauer and Hendrix Tyler, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Connie Fisher in 1992,  husband Joe Tyler in 2011 and 3 sisters, Mary, Myrtle and Betty.

With Ellen's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Janesville, WI at a later date.
