Ishpeming, MI - Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Waters, age 83, of 426 W. Empire St., Ishpeming passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at UP Health System Bell.

Elizabeth was born in Ishpeming on December 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Ella M. (St. Andre) and Sydney Argall. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1959, and attended Northern Michigan University receiving her degree as a licensed practical nurse. While in school, Liz worked as a waitress at the Congress in Ishpeming. Liz did not end up practicing as a nurse as a more important roll emerged as a mother. Liz was active in raising her children and cherished her roll with the Girl Scouts of America, along with serving as a troop leader for Tim's Eagle Scout Troop.

Liz went on to work at the Ishpeming Armory as a maintenance person for many years and knew every inch of that building. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Negaunee Eagles, Lillian Larson American Legion Post 114 Auxiliary, Good Sam RV Club of Michigan where she held many state positions. Liz loved crafting and ran the Holiday Craft Show at the Ishpeming Armory for 40+ years. She served as a chaperon for the Ishpeming Blue Notes Drum and Bugle Corps Parent Club and was an integral member of the family support group at the Ishpeming Armory.  Liz will be fondly remembered as one who was very family and community oriented.

Elizabeth is survived by a son, Timothy (Stacie) Waters of Knoxville, TN; four daughters, Tammy (Raymond) Hoffman and Cindy (Carl) Walin both of Ishpeming, Renee' (Donald) Edens of Clearwater, FL and Melissa (Dennis) Andrews of Marquette; five sisters, Susan Ellis, Helen Schmeltz and Sherry (Greg) Fredin all of Ishpeming,  Linda (John) Baggiore of Illinois and Cathy Compton of Akron, OH; brother, David Argall of Ishpeming; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Waters whom she married Aug 29, 1959, daughter Lynn Waters Robinson, sisters, Beverly Tilly and Sandy Moffatt, brother Danny Kangas and her parents Sydney Argall and Ella Kangas and stepfather Arnie Kangas.

The Family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, where a memorial service will follow at 4:00pm with Ginny Graybill officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
