Ishpeming Twp- Elizabeth C. Tasson, age 97, of 2000 Woodland Drive passed away on Tuesday September 19, 2017 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.  Elizabeth was in the loving care of her family, staff members at Eastwood and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.

Elizabeth was born on March 24, 1920, the seventh child of eleven living children, to Dominic B. and Marianna (Umbrello) Tasson. At a young age Elizabeth went out to work at the H. W. Gossard Co., the Negaunee Glove Factory, and the Marquette Dress Factory as a self-taught seamstress.  She later worked in Milwaukee at AC Sparkplug and then back to being a seamstress at Gimbels Department Store and at Marshall Field's in their alterations departments.  Upon her retirement in 1987, Elizabeth returned to her beloved family farm in North Lake Location.  In her later life Elizabeth cared for family members who have since preceded her in death. She was well known as a fabulous cook and baker and was also very creative at "fixing" things around the house.

Survivors include nephews:  Fabian (Barbara) Tasson of O'Fallon, Missouri; Alan (Carolyn) Tasson of Sun City West, Arizona; and Lloyd, and Dennis (Alberta) Tasson of Ishpeming; nieces: Patricia Tasson, Barbara Tasson, and Jean (Jeff) LePage of Ishpeming as well as several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, and a number of special friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents Elizabeth was preceded in death by brothers Bernard, Dominic, Vito, Salvatore (Tuddy), James, Joseph, and Rocco; and sisters Mary, Frances "Chick" and Teresa.  Elizabeth was also preceded in death by an infant sister (for whom she was named), nephews Andy Tasson, Dominic R. (Skip) Tasson, and James Tasson and nieces Marianna Tasson and Ann Santee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 St. John the Evangelist Church with Rev. Larry Van Damme to officiate.  Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral.  Luncheon will follow in the K/D Hall at the church. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey and Justin LePage, Jay Tasson and Neil Oysti.
