Ishpeming – Elizabeth "Liz" J. Paull, age 76, life long Ishpeming resident passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at her home in Ishpeming.
Liz was born the daughter of the late Arthur and Julia (Jeffery) Hammar in Ishpeming on June 2, 1931. She was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, a life long resident of Ishpeming and a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Liz was involved with many groups including the Past Matron's and the Women's Group at Wesley and enjoyed making pasties at the church. She worked as a floral designer for Paul's Jewelry and Gifts for many years along with Teddy's and most recently at Avant Gardens. She never wanted to retire completely and every flower arrangement came from her heart. Her life was blessed with family, friends, and some very special neighbors on West Empire St. (the 20 houses) who were always there for each other. She loved to take trips to California and Green Bay to be with family and an occasional outing to the casino with Auntie Glad. Liz never missed any of Ryan's cross country races and followed her grandson to every event he was in. Ryan was the light of her life and they were together whenever possible. Her passing will leave an empty spot in many hearts.
Survivors include her son: Jeff (Linda) Paull of Ishpeming, brother: Arthur "Hype" (Ann Marie) Hammar of Ishpeming, grandson: Ryan Paull of Ishpeming, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved little dog Daisy. Liz was preceded in death by her husband Russell "Jim" Paull. Honorary pall bearers include Tom Hammar, Allen Hammar, James Hammar, Jeff Solka, Dave Savolainen Jr, and Norman Pantti.
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Scott Lindenberg and Rev. Eric Hammar officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday at the church from 10:30am until the service time at 2:00pm.
