Ishpeming- Elizabeth F. Charboutet, age 84, formerly of 180 Bluff St., Ishpeming, passed away on Friday July 27, 2007 at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming, she had resided at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp. for the past two months.
Elizabeth was born July 18, 1923 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Andrew and Hildur (Carlson) Anderson. Elizabeth attended the Ishpeming Public Schools. She served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, mainly as a parachute rigger in New Guinea. Elizabeth worked for many years as a custodian for the L.S.& I Railroad, and was also a salesperson for the Stanley Home Products Co. for several years. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post #4573. One of Elizabeth's favorite pastimes was to play BINGO.
Survivors include a daughter – Wanda (Danny) Davis of Gwinn, 4 grandchildren – Marcia (Tom) Glass of Kenosha, WI, Jack Filizetti of Ypsilanti, Linda Fililzetti of Harvey and Wayne (Stacey) Fililzetti of Gwinn; 6 step-granchildren – Deanna, John, Beth, Donna, Shawn, and Danny; 6 great grandchildren, including a special great granddaughter Destiny, along with Steven, Mikol, Joshua, Eila, and Jonathan; many nieces and nephews including special niece Joan Niemi and special nephew Scott Niemi; special friends – Ruby Forchini, Many Neuman, Mavis Wiitanen and Chris Johnson; and her caregiver Julie Hult. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, a son Wayne, and 3 brothers – Philmore, Kenneth and Robert Anderson.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 12:00noon, with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate. The Ishpeming VFW will conclude the services with a memorial and flag presentation. A luncheon will follow the services at the Ishpeming V.F.W.
