ISHPEMING, MI – In loving memory of Elijah Lee Cowling who passed away at home on Thursday, September 18th, 2025.

Elijah was born on October 3, 2007, in Ishpeming, MI to Michael and Elisa Cowling. Elijah was the destroyer of chickie-nuggies, tamer of dinosaurs, and bringer of joy to everyone he met. He loved camping and fishing with his grandpa Mike and daddy as well as baiting for the deer. He enjoyed climbing his Bapa Lee's coffee table and sleeping through most family events. His cousin Emma was and always will be his favorite person and his best friend. His love, laughter, and infectious personality will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Elijah is survived by his parents, Michael and Elisa Cowling; paternal grandma Vicky Cowling; maternal grandparents Lee and Becki Prisk; paternal aunts Tina Rivord and Kate Ogea; paternal uncle Josiah (Samantha) Cowling; maternal aunt Cassie Linne; maternal uncle Hunter (Krystilyn) Prisk; cousins Emma Linne, Grayson Prisk, and Chay Ogea; paternal great-grandma JoAnn Prisk; maternal great-great grandma Betty Croschere; maternal great-great aunt Sandy (Dave) Lusardi; special cousins Crystal, Keith, Mason, Marissa Swenor, and David and Kassy Prisk; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones.

Elijah was preceded in death by his brother Ethan Cowling; paternal grandfather Michael Cowling; maternal grandfather Butch Prisk; maternal great-grandparents Norman and Sherry Pittsley, and maternal great uncle David Croshere.

A celebration of life will be held for Elijah at the Ely Township Hall on Saturday, October 4th, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating small stuffed dinosaurs to your local fire department, EMS, or directly to the family. These gifts will be shared with first responders to comfort children during emergency calls.
