Ishpeming – L. Eleanore Miller, age 81 of 200 Saginaw St. Ishpeming passed away on Sunday May 22, 2011 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming were she had resided for the past 4 months.


Eleanore was born May 23, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of the late Oscar and Lillian (Tuolppo) Rajala. The family moved to Calumet, MI where she graduated from high school in 1946. Eleanore resided in the Copper Country until 5 years ago when she moved to Marquette. While in the Copper Country, she worked for the Northern Mutual Insurance Co. (formerly the Finnish Mutual Ins. Co.) in Hancock for 49½ years.


Eleanore had been an active member of the National Lutheran Church in Calumet. She loved to spoil her grandchildren. Pastimes included picking berries along with cooking and baking. Eleanore enjoyed time spent with friends, especially Jean Clark of Laurium.


Survivors include her daughter Judith (David) Paveglio of Ishpeming, a sister-in-law – Nathleen Rajala of Gurnee, IL, 3 grandchildren – Shana (Justin) Kleinschmidt of Marquette, Sarah Paveglio of Bloomington, MN and Erik Paveglio of Ishpeming, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband Theodore Miller and 2 brothers Robert and Clarence Rajala.


A private family memorial service will be held, with Eleanore's cremains to be buried in the Ahmeek Cemetery.
