Petticoat Lake- Eleanor V. Teacher, age 94, of Petticoat Lake Rd. Michigamme passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she been a resident since May 2008.

Eleanor was born March 9, 1914 in Corsica, PA to Levi & Mary (Snyder) Simpson. Eleanor graduated from Brookville High School in 1933. She worked 25 years for Sylvania making radio & TV tubes. Eleanor moved to Petticoat Lake in 1988. She enjoyed quilting & crocheting. Eleanor attended the Woodland United Methodist Church in Michigamme.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Barbara L. (Eero) Taisto of Petticoat Lake, grandsons: W. John (Barbie) Taisto of Ishpeming and Jeffrey (Jenny) Taisto of Safford, AZ, great grandchildren Amanda, Melisa, & Kyle Taisto, and Trevor Swanson, sisters in law Harriet Teacher of Brookville, PA, and Irene Teacher of Harrisburg, PA, nieces, nephews and grandma's special friend Renee' Hilliker of Marquette. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald L. Teacher, 2 brothers & a sister.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Rev. James Fegan officiating. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

Friends may call the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00p.m.
