Obituary

Ishpeming, MI- Eileen Marie Peterson, age 73, Ishpeming resident passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Mission Point Nursing & Physical Rehabilitation Center of Ishpeming.

Eileen was born in Crystal Falls, MI on February 16, 1948, a daughter of the late Chester and Marie L. (Kemmet) Elczuk. She was a graduate of Crystal Falls High School and received her bachelor's degree from NMU in Home Economics and English.

Eileen worked as a nurse's aide for many area nursing homes. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she participated in Bible Study.

Eileen is survived by three daughters, Marie Peterson, of Lansing, MI, Heidi Peterson, and Amy Peterson both of Ishpeming and a son Paul Peterson of Michigamme, her husband Paul Peterson, three grandchildren: Laura (Larry Schmunsler) Hubbell, Nathaniel (Kayla Patterson) Sortor, and Roland Sortor, two great grandchildren: Aiden and Leo, and a nephew.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, son in law Dwayne Sortor, and four siblings:  Maryann, Delores, Skipper and Chester Jr. Elczuk.

Eileen's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Tuesday November 16, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Weston officiating.

A luncheon will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.
