Obituary
Ishpeming- Edwin Peterson, age 95 life long Ishpeming resident passed away Sunday May 25, 2014 at the Eastwood Nursing Center, while in the care of UP Home Health & Hospice.
Edwin was born February 19, 1919 in Ishpeming to Charles & Maria (Latvala) Peterson. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1938. Edwin served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was member of the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post # 4573, the AMVETS and the Bethel Lutheran Church. Edwin worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. He enjoyed reading and spending time in the outdoors
Edwin is survived by a brother Walter Peterson and a sister Margaret LaForest both of Ishpeming along with numerous nieces and nephews. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ann Pellinen, Hilda Green, Dorothy Lopez, and Jennie Ecklid, brothers: Henry Peterson, Herbert Peterson and Arvid Peterson.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00am on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.
Edwin's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bethel Lutheran Church on Monday June 23rd from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380.
