Negaunee- Edwin A. Kyllonen, age 86 of 135 Neejee Rd. Negaunee passed away Thursday September 4, 2014 at the Marquette General Hospital.

Edwin was born on September 20, 1927 in Iron River to the late Thomas & Amanda (Piirainen) Kyllonen. He graduated from Iron River High School and served his country in the United States Army. Edwin worked as a truck driver for A.L. Lindberg and Sons. He was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Negaunee. Edwin was affectionately know as "Papa" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he cherished.

Edwin is survived by 3 children: Faye (Leonard) Salmela of Grand Rapids, MN, Lori (Paul) Jokinen of Marquette and Wendy (Thomas Jr.) Hyslop of Negaunee, a brother Leonard (Audrey) Kyllonen of Negaunee, 8 grandchildren Kara Alger, Travis Salmela, Beth Prusi, Rachel Salmela, Brianna Salmela, Danielle Jokinen, Chelsea Syrek and Rajani Hyslop, 10 beloved great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of brothers and sisters in faith. Edwin was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, Co. Rd. 492 Negaunee with Dale Kemp and Rick Salmela officiating. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

Edwin's family will greet relatives and friends at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Negaunee on Saturday from 5:00-8:00pm and on Sunday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Nease, Greg Salmela, Russ Caya, Paul Jokinen, Philip Johnson and Travis Salmela.
