Ishpeming Twp, MI – Edward John "Butch" Kostreva, age 67 of 160 Lotus St. Ishpeming, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2009 at his home.

Edward was born May 22, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Helen (Lentz) and the late Edward Kostreva. He graduated from Kelvyn Park High School in Chicago. Butch worked as a diesel mechanic for A. Lindberg & Sons for over 30 years, he retired in 1998. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 324.

"Butch" enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play football and baseball. Butch himself was an excellent baseball player in his youth. He also loved being at his camp on the Dead River Basin.

"Butch" is survived by 2 children: E.J. (Christy) Kostreva of Marquette, Dana (Orlando Perez) Kostreva of Tampa, FL, 6 grandchildren: Eric, Ethan, Luke, Ryan, Taylor and Jordyn, his mother Helen Kostreva of Pound, WI, 2 brothers: Dale (Celi) Kostreva of Crivitz, WI, Rodney (Kathy) Kostreva of Coleman, WI, 2 sisters: Karen Prange of Porterfield, WI, Diane (Bob) Schlenbecker of Naperville, IL, along with many nieces & nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his father Edward, a son Eric in 1991 and a brother in law Greg Prange.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Kevin Taylor and Mark Larson officiating. The family will greet friends at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00PM until the time of service at 6:00PM.

A time of fellowship will immediately follow the funeral at the Good News Assembly of God Church fellowship hall in Ishpeming.
