Ishpeming- Edith E. Maki, age 79 of 35786 Co. Rd. 581 Ishpeming (Ely Twp) passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at UP Health System Marquette.
Edith was born August 28, 1936 in North Greenwood Location to the late Roy & Evelyn (Kobie) Cardew. Edith was a life time member of the AMVETS Post 122 Auxiliary, where she enjoyed time spent at Ross Lake.
Edith enjoyed picking blueberries, playing cribbage, reading, working on crossword puzzles and camping. She always looked forward to Monday mornings when the neighbors would gather for coffee.
Edith is survived by 4 children: Robert Maki, Karen (John) Wallace, Evelyn Maki and Diane (Roscoe Rader) Maki, 2 brothers: James Cardew and Lowell (Roberta) Cardew, 9 grandchildren: Amy (Peter) Dreis, John (Heidi) Wallace, Michelle Wallace, Mike Wallace, Keith Greenleaf, Kristen Henson, Jennifer (Travis) Beach, Sara Maki and Melissa Maki, 8 great grandchildren: Alex, Alicia, Eli, Aaron, Preston, Elizabeth, Taliah and Emeliah, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Edith was preceded in death by her husband Robert Maki 2003, 4 brothers: Edward, Roy, Russell and Norman Cardew, a sister Helen Lahnanen, and son in law James Henson.
Honoring Edith's wishes, cremation will take place and a family gathering will take place at a later date.
