Douglas A. Mood
Ishpeming, MI – Douglas A. Mood age 86 of 404 Linden St. Ishpeming passed away Wednesday May 6, 2015 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past 2 weeks.
Douglas was born July 30, 1928 in Breitung Township, MI to the late Arthur & Myrtle (Prin) Mood. Doug graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1946, received a Bachelors Degree in 1964 and Masters Degree from Northern Michigan University in School Administration in 1967. Doug taught science and math for the Ishpeming Public Schools at the C.L. Phelps Middle School.
Doug was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Ishpeming ELKS Lodge and the VASA Lodge. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Douglas is survived by his 2 sons, David Mood of Ishpeming and Paul (Sara) Mood of Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene and a brother Paul.
Honoring Doug's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no public service.
Memorials may be directed to the Douglas Mood Memorial Scholarship in care of the Ishpeming Public Schools at 319 East Division Street, Ishpeming, MI 49849.
