Walker, MI - Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Villberg) Shusta, age 89, of Walker and Three Lakes passed away unexpectedly Monday January 12, 2015. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest along with a brother and sister-in-law Paul and Jane Villberg, and sister Janet (Villberg) Thomas.

Surviving are her three dear children, Jeffrey (Nancy) Shusta of Grand Rapids, Mary Shusta of Atlanta, GA, Sara Shusta & Bart Lafferty of Walker, three grandchildren, Audra (Rick) Venhuizen, Joe Shusta and Stephanie Shusta, three great grandsons, Matthew, Broden and Preston, sister-in-law Shirley Richey, brother-in-law Willard Thomas, many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a graduate of Northern Michigan University and achieved her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Michigan. She taught at various high schools throughout the Upper Peninsula and Petoskey area, and after relocating to Grand Rapids she also taught Adult Education Classes. Dorothy retired from the City of Walker after over 20 years of service.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Negaunee Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Larry Van Damme to officiate.

The Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
