Ishpeming Twp- Dorothy Mitchell DellAngelo, age 82 of 225 S. Pansy St. Ishpeming passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 while in the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Dorothy was born July 9, 1929 in Ishpeming to Leslie & Ann (Pietro) Mitchell. Dorothy was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, class of 1947 and for the past 65 years "The Club" has met twice a month.
Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, going for walks, playing cards: especially cribbage and golfing at Wawonowin Country Club. She and Andy spent 15 years wintering in the South. Dorothy was a member of the former St. Pius X Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, whom she married September 18, 1948, Andy DellAngelo, two sons: Michael (Lynn) DellAngelo of Dallas, TX and Dr. Robert (Kathy) DellAngelo of Michigamme, 5 grandchildren: Michelle Gutermuth of Houston, TX, Scott (Amber) DellAngelo of Chicago, IL, Alison (Matt) Bakken of Minneapolis, Leslie (Andrew) Sander of Minneapolis and Drs. Katie (Brian) Turner of Burlington, VT, 3 great grandchildren: Michaela Gutermuth, Lauren and Brandon DellAngelo, a brother Louis (Mary Ann) Mitchell, brother in law Anthony Certo of Ishpeming along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Benjamin and four sisters: Mary Grasso, Alice Certo, Marguerite Kowalski and Jane Johnson.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30-11:30am on Saturday, May 26th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am with Fr. James Challancin officiating.
A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
