Marquette- Doreen E. Pajula, age 92 of Island Beach Rd. Marquette & longtime Ishpeming resident passed away at her home on Sunday January 18, 2015 surrounded by her family and caregiver Diane.

Doreen was born February 25, 1922 in Ishpeming to James & Clara (Hamburg) Heard. She graduated from Ishpeming High School and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Larken Club.

Doreen enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her homes in Marquette, Phoenix, AZ and camp on Fish Lake. Her primary enjoyment was spending time with her family. Her loving and giving heart was endless.

She and her husband traveled extensively and made friends everywhere they went. She enjoyed various activities throughout her life- cooking, bird hunting, fishing, dancing, bowling and bridge clubs. Her husband Ray liked to say "I built a house, and she made it a home."

Doreen is survived by her husband Ray of 68 years, Children: Judy (Dave) Pross of Oconomowoc, WI, Gail (Dave) Hebein of Ishpeming, Sandra (Bob) Flynn of Ishpeming, Linda (Rick) Haapanen of Waukegan, IL and Mark Pajula of Marquette, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Doreen will be held at 5:00pm Wednesday, January 21st at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery

Doreen's family will greet relatives and friends at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 3:00pm until the time of service at 5:00pm

Pallbearers will be Doreen's grandchildren and their spouses.

A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Memorials may be given in Doreen's memory to Bay Cliff Health Camp.

The family wished to thank Doreen's caregivers and U.P. Home Health & Hospice who enabled her to remain in her home.
