National Mine- Doreen Elaine LaCombe, age 79 longtime National Mine resident, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Mather Nursing Center where she been a resident since 2007.

Doreen was born on August 10, 1933 in National Mine to the late Carl & Sadie (Pajala) Kujansuu. She graduated from National Mine High School, class 0f 1951. Doreen worked at the H.W. Gossard Company and volunteered her time at the Ishpeming Senior Center. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Doreen enjoyed dancing in her younger years. She was a loving care giver to her mother for several years. She enjoyed reading, watching TV and playing solitaire.

Doreen is survived by 3 children: Steven (Cheryl) Guizzetti of National Mine, Paul (Lisa Aisthorpe and her daughter Jordan) LaCombe of National Mine and John (Lisa) LaCombe of Marquette, 2 sisters: Judy Williamson of Pelham, NH and Sally (Steve) Magnuson of National Mine, 3 grandchildren: Brad Guizzetti, Terra Guizzetti and Hailey LaCombe, 3 great grandchildren: Noah, Riley, and Skylar, and expecting a great grandchild, nieces & nephews Crystal (Brad) MacLachlan and their daughter Madison, Ann Williamson and her son Noah, Craig (Carissa) Magnuson and their children Camery and Cody and Christopher Williamson. Doreen was preceded in death by her parents Carl & Sadie Kujansuu.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Doreen's family would like to thank the staff of Mather Nursing Center for their wonderful care and compassion given to Doreen.
