National Mine, MI- Donna Cecelia Skogman, age 92, life-long National Mine resident passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at her residence while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Donna was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on February 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Harold J. and Esther (Callahan) McCarthy.

Donna was a 1948 graduate of National Mine High School. She worked at the Miners Bank in Ishpeming as a bank teller for 29 years. She enjoyed her flower gardens.

Donna is survived by a son, David Skogman, brother, Donald (Mae) McCarthy, brother-in-law Euren Skogman, several nieces and nephews, her extended family, Anna, Steve, and Eugene Lahti.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Skogman, son Daniel Skogman, grandson Michael Skogman, brothers; Robert and Harold McCarthy and sister Margaret McCarthy, sisters-in-law; Elvie Johnson, Elsie Skogman, Stella Skogman, Ethel Valenzio, and Edith Pearce, and brothers-in-law Elmer, Edmund, and Ernie Skogman and special friend Oliver Lahti.

A special thanks to Dennis, Marv, and Pamela Evans for their long-time friendship and recent help and care for Donna. Also, a thanks to the nurses and caregivers of UP Home Health and Hospice.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Ishpeming Cemetery.
