Obituary
Ishpeming, MI- Donna A. LaFountain, age 71, of Ishpeming, MI, entered eternal life on Sunday February 22, 2015 at home under the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Donna was born September 7, 1943, in Ishpeming, to the late Donald St. Onge and Lorraine (LaFave) St. Onge, who survives her. She attended various schools throughout the area and graduated from Crystal Falls High School in 1961.
Donna married John E. "Jack" LaFountain on January 21, 1961 in Iron Mountain, MI. They eventually settled in Ishpeming where Donna stayed home to raise 5 children. She also worked at the Cenex gas station in Ishpeming Twp for 13 years. In her spare time, Donna loved watching her children and grandchildren play local sports and spending time with her great-grandson. She also enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino in Watersmeet, MI. Donna will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always had a hug ready for anyone who needed it.
Donna is survived by her husband, John E. "Jack" LaFountain: son, John A. (Cheryl) LaFountain of Ishpeming, MI, and their children, Matthew and Ryan; son, Donald (Carol) LaFountain of Longmont, CO and their children, Robyn and Todd; son, Ricky (Sherry) LaFountain of Westland, MI and their children, Michael and Sierra; daughter Lori (Douglas) Sicotte of Ishpeming, MI and their children, Ashley and Chelsea; son, Robert (Kelly) LaFountain of Marinette, WI and their children, Sara (son Lucas) and Tori; great grandson Blake Christian; mother, Lorraine St. Onge of Ishpeming, MI; sister, Bonny (Danny) Koski of Gwinn, MI; numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Donald St. Onge, and infant sister, Janice.
Donna's family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, February 26th from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm with Fr. Dan Moll officiating.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Lake Superior Hospice for the caring attention given to Donna.
