Republic, MI - Donna Marie Erickson, age 91, longtime resident of 7994 Willow Dr., Republic, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at UP Health System Marquette while in the loving care of her family.

Donna was born in Witch Lake, on July 13, 1931, a daughter of the late Mae (Doan) and Seth Wixtrom. She was a graduate of the Republic High School, Class of 1949.  A year later she married Arvid Erickson and together they raised six children. Along with tending to the needs of her family, Donna was also an integral part of the Erickson Potato Farm.

Donna was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Witch Lake.  She will be remembered for her hand made rag rugs her love of jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, playing the piano and singing, going to grandkids school events, cooking, baking, finnish cheese, and especially and ironically, her potato donuts.

Donna is  survived by her children - David (Karen) Erickson of Jackson, MI; Beverly (Pat) Carriere of Henderson, NV;  Robert (Martha) Erickson of Columbus, IN; Dolores (Edwin) Walker of Hendersonville, TN; Richard (Mary) Erickson of Republic; a sister, Nancy (Fred) Spanton of Alabama; sisters-in-law - Helen, Luana and Hannah Wixtrom; 12 grandchildren - Seth, Nathan, Brandon, Zach, Bobby, Kyle, Betsy, Kohl, Elliott, Jesse, Rachel, Jacob; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arvid Erickson; daughter Carole Erickson; brothers - James,  Bruce, William and Jack  Wixtrom; and sisters -  Marcy Houlmont and June Laakso.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00am until 11:00am on Saturday December 17, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Witch Lake. A Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday with Pastor Jim Janofski to officiate.  Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
