Ishpeming- Donna Gwenn Springstead (Anderson), 77, met her Lord in heaven on September 10, 2026, after passing away peacefully in her home in Ishpeming, Michigan.

Donna was born September 16, 1948, in Gary, Indiana, and adopted by Perry O. Springstead and Barbara B. Buckmaster. She spent her younger years growing up in Portland, Oregon, raising her children there as well. She loved Portland's roses and admired the cherry blossoms in the spring. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and neighbor.

Donna attended Grant High School in Portland, Oregon, and transferred in her senior year to Champion High School, where she graduated. She later attended Western Business College in Portland, Oregon. After marrying Clayton John Anderson Jr., she welcomed three children—Carl, Dawn, and Aaron—and later completed her family with the birth of her youngest son, Christopher Ray Anderson.

Donna's absolute favorite hobby was knitting. Over the years, she made countless blankets, sweaters, hats, and scarves, every stitch full of love, making sure to knit and gift hats to babies in the NICU every year. She enjoyed watching crime shows and westerns, often with family members. A passionate gardener, she planted flowers every spring and tended to them for untold hours; though she was very humble and considered herself an amateur, she still had the prettiest garden in the neighborhood. She decorated for every holiday year-round, taking great pride in her displays whether it was for Christmas, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, or any other occasion. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, baking cookies for her grandkids when they got home from school, and enjoying their company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Julia McClure, and her son Carl Anderson.

Donna is survived by her children, Dawn, Aaron, and Christopher; her grandchildren, Carl Jr., Isaac, Katlyn, Valentino, Antonio, Brita, and Adrianna; her brother, Tom DeVelder; and her sister, Nancy Alexander.

A private memorial service will be held at a family plot in Marquette County.
