Jefferson, WI- Donald R. Nankervis, age 92 of Jefferson, WI and former Ishpeming Twp resident passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, WI.

Donald was born in Ishpeming to John & Edna (Nault) Nankervis. He graduated from Ishpeming High School. Don served his country during World War II with the US Army's 20 ^th Armored Division in Europe.

Don worked as a draftsman at the main office in Ishpeming for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming, a life member of the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post #4573, and a Past Grand Master of the Odd Fellows. He and his wife Aili spend the last few years living in Wisconsin to be near their family.

Don is survived by his wife Aili M. (Saari) Nankervis, whom he married on June 14, 1947, 2 children Robert Nankervis of Middleton, WI and Christine (Tom) Donnelly of Jefferson WI, a sister, Doreen (Rollin "Ruffy") Johnson of Negaunee, 2 grandchildren: Troy (Masha) Donnelly and Tami Baker, 4 great grandchildren: Dyllon, Cortney, Jack and Maya, along with several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents John & Edna Nankervis.

Donald's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 am -12:00 noon on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380.

A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
