Obituary
Ishpeming – Don K. Hebert, age 43 of 326 Jasper St. Ishpeming passed away at 1:20am on December 24, 2011 while in the loving care of his family and the Lake Superior Hospice.
Don was born October 1, 1968 in Marquette the son of Sandra (Bushong) and Joseph Hebert. Don grew up in the Ishpeming area until age 13, when his family moved to the Lower Peninsula. He finished high school in the Lower Peninsula and served in the United States Army for 2 years. Don relocated to the Upper Peninsula after his service to his country and enjoyed the great outdoors, including hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening. Don became a Boilermaker and worked in many locations in the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin, prior to moving to Mt. Pleasant and working at locations throughout the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. In 2002, Don was severely injured in an automobile accident which forced him into retirement.
Survivors include 2 sons – Mark (Abby) Hebert of Lake Isabella, and Patrick (Justine) Hebert of Mt. Pleasant, a daughter Melinda Hebert of Mt. Pleasant, his mother Sandra Hebert and companion Jim Mead of Ishpeming, a sister and caretaker's for the past 4+ years Shelly (Mike) Larwy of Ishpeming, along with sister Kelly Luokkala of Ishpeming, and brothers Joseph (Marge) Hebert of Mt. Pleasant and Stephen (Lori) Hebert of Little Chute, WI, 2 grandchildren – Lauren and Zoey Hebert, paternal grandmother Joyce Hebert of Baraga, maternal grandmother Gloriana (Ruhl) Bushong of Ishpeming, nieces and nephews – Logan, Karah, Dawson, Jaron, Evan, Ellen, Holly, Alex, Derek, Joseph, Lee, Gloriana, Bethanie, Ginger, Ashley and Billy, special friend and caregiver Linda Zhulkie of Ishpeming, along with several great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his father Joseph Hebert in 2003 and granddaughter Ella Marie Hebert and his paternal grandfather Leo Hebert and his maternal grandfather Earl Bushong.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 12noon until 2:00pm on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming. A funeral service with a sharing of memories will follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday with the Rev. Doug Mater to officiate. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place Thursday at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joey, Lee and Evan Hebert, Logan Lawry, Lee and Beau Bushong.
